www.engelska.se Internationella Engelska Skolan Nacka is now looking for an Assistant Principal of Academics to join our international team of educators. The ideal candidate has teaching experience, a passion for developing education and has experience in a school leadership position. It is important that you are fluent in Swedish and English and you need to have a thorough working knowledge of the Swedish educational system. The Assistant Principal of Academics will have a vital role in establishing and implementing the high academic standards expected within IES. The position requires a strategic mindset and a hands on approach. It will involve daily contact with teachers, staff, students and parents. As well as having a passion for educational attainment, you should have a strong desire to be part of the journey of developing our school.
The role will be full-time with probation starting the 31st of July 2023.
Key areas of responsibility
The Assistant Principal of Academics is part of the school's leadership team and works closely with the Principal, A.P. of Student Care, Academic Manager, Heads of Department, Student Care Team and teachers to develop world class educational practices at IES Nacka. How do we continue to improve the quality of teaching? How do we support students in fulfilling their potential? How do we monitor students' progress? These are a few of the many questions that you will work with as part of our systematic quality work. You should believe in the central pillars of what we at IES offer to students:
• To command the English language - the key to the world.
• A safe and orderly environment, where teachers can teach and students can learn.
• High academic expectations.
Required competencies and desired qualifications/experiences
We are looking for individuals who are organised, focused and resilient to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring. The successful candidate is a highly committed team player with drive, energy and passion, who:
• Coaches and supports teachers to develop their practice
• Inspires a love of learning within students
• Has a collaborative relationship with parents
• Has a deep understanding about the school law
• Has an in-depth knowledge of grading and LGR 22
• Has a high technical skill and utilisation of SchoolSoft and Skola24
We will interview during early spring term.
IES Nacka was established in August 2010, and has 940 students from year 4-9.
