As Application Specialist you will maximize customer relationships through increasing their comfort level using QIAGEN's "Complete Solutions from Sample to Assays". You will satisfy customers and prospects technical and service expectations by supplying knowledge on applications, recommendations of workflows and instrumentations. You will do this e.g. through on site demonstrations, training and development of protocols. The Application Specialist is further active in co-developing and conducting specific sales supporting initiatives, such as seminars and instrument demonstrations. The Application Specialist will work in close collaboration with other stakeholders within QIAGEN, such as the Account Manager, Instrument Service, Technical Support and Sales- and Product Management.
Main tasks:
• Sales revenue/Budgets: Meet/exceed sales targets of defined instruments and their consumables through 1) actively addressing all applications inquiries from prospects and customers and 2) conducting commercial activities such as demonstrations and road shows.
• Planning/forecasting: Co-develop tactical plans to integrate the complete Sample and Assay technology into the Life Science and Molecular Diagnostics (MDX) markets. Contribute to the accurate forecasting by supplying relevant opportunity information to ISS and Sales managers.
• Business/Markets: Proactively communicate market information, trends and new product ideas through relevant channels within QIAGEN.
• Customer Focus: Develop and maintain relationship with key customers and references within Molecular Diagnostics MDX and Life Science markets. Develop and maintain good working relationship with internal suppliers. including Instrument Service and Application labs.
• Information systems: Utilizing the CRM database to input and provide information that will increase effectiveness towards the customer and aid sales.
• Communication: Participate in meetings/communication channels to ensure effective communication across business units. Interaction with all stake holders is essential.
• Training: Generate and administrate application specific training on integrated solutions to both external and internal customers.
You are probably a flexible and self-going team player with a service oriented mind. You have a profound interest in QIAGENS products and applications.
Requirements:
• Minimum education: Bachelor of science or equivalent academic experience.
• 3+ years of proven, practical, in-depth experience of various molecular techniques and applications, such as nucleic acid purification, (real-time) PCR, sequencing, genotyping and gene-expression technologies, in research or diagnostic settings.
• Specific knowledge of relevant integration of hardware, software and chemistry to achieve integrated results in the Molecular Diagnostics and Life Science markets, e.g. LIMS.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels.
• Comfortable and able to work as a team player as well as individual performer.
• Well developed business sense.
• Mother tongue Swedish or Danish, proficient in English.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Home based, living on a practical location within Sweden or Denmark.
