The main area of responsibility is to help with the design of smaller hydroelectric power plants and create conditions for the sale of turbines. You will support the sales companies regarding selection of turbines and give advice on different solutions in order to customize the turbine and maximize the energy production. You will recommend suitable installation methods with regard to local building conditions and also do hydraulic calculations to estimate system losses and risk of cavitation. As an Application Engineer you will play an important role in the process and work with all the phases of the hydropower projects. You will be working in close collaboration with marketing and sales functions both locally and internationally as well as together with R&D concerning technology and product development.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Support the sales companies with their sales efforts with product selection and system design - Immerse in subjects related to the the application engineering - Participate in troubleshooting cases - Participate in the development of software tools for product selection and system design - Participate in and supports business development projects - Develop training material in the application engineering domain - Train internal staff in application knowledge - Mentor / tutor for internal and external Support Engineers - Develops and administer engineering tools - Operate or assist in application development projects - Travel approximately 3-4 days a month, worldwide.
You will be situated in Sundbyberg and be a part of an international organization working globally. The turbine business is in an exciting phase with a newly launched product which is highly demanded from the customers.
Background and personal qualities
We are looking for a candidate with extensive hydropower experience, ideally combined with hydraulic knowledge and CFD experience. A university degree within relevant fields is a must. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral are essential. Swedish, Portuguese and/or Arabic are a merit. Since the role is located in Sweden we assume that you have accommodation here.
In this recruitment the personal qualities will be of great importance. Project management skills are necessary since the position demands a lot of coordination, both internally and externally. You are analytical and have a demonstrated ability to resolve difficult technical issues but also a profound business attitude and the ability to build good relationships.
