Opportunity to join a world class team of high performing technical experts that will help set the standards and direction for our Global Supply Chain for advanced manufacturing technologies. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader across GE Healthcare.
Essential Responsibilities:
This particular role will drive the vision for automaton application and practices while providing regional leadership and planning for the introduction of automation for new product development and existing manufacturing as part of a global Automation COE. The AME Automation process engineer is responsible developing new automation applications, deploying these applications and supporting our manufacturing engineering teams within GSC (Global Supply Chain) across the Europe region. This will be a great opportunity to work hands on with many process technologies in both Life Sciences and with the regional Health Care Systems businesses.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
• The scope of automation will cover both Fixed and Collaborative automation. Will work various sites across Europe to help identify high ROI applications, help do the design and prove out of the application and support the local team to deploy the automation into production.
• Be a part of our New Product Introduction process to influence designs to incorporate design for automation standards so low cost solutions are part of initial production release.
• Support the effort to create standard automation Equipment/User Requirement Specifications to further drive component standardization, data standards for brilliant factories, and standard safety risk assessments.
• Stay connected with industry and university trends, helping GEHC stay current with new automation innovations.
• Support the MPTC (Manufacturing Process Technology Council) globally and expand/develop regional liaisons within the council.
• Create training materials and provide training on automation process technologies. Take part in training deployment strategy for the MPTC.
The scope of Automation Processes includes: Collaborative Robots (Universal Robots, Re-think, Fanuc, ABB, ect.), Fixed automation, advanced automated conveyors, Automated Guided Vehicles, integration of PLC's and supporting our Brilliant Factory initiatives by connecting the physical process to digital information.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• B.S. Degree in Electrical/Automation or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical degree
• Relevant experience in product and/or process design and development.
• Experience with auto CAD electrical
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.
• Domain expertise in the automation and controls technologies.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to identify and implement Best Practices.
• Demonstrated program or project management skills.
• Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality.
• Willing to travel domestic and internationally up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MS/PHD in technical concentration/field.
• Years of industrial experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.
• Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing.
- Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP.
• Experienced developing tools and templates.
• Experience working with global teams.
