Aerospace Painter

Your Role: The Painting group is responsible for the preparation and painting of commercial aircraft parts fabricated from Composite and metal materials. This includes, but is not limited to, Aircraft Nacelles-Thrust Reversers, Fan Cowls, Engine Inlets, Airframe Structure Details, Flight surfaces, Flight Controls, Radomes, Aerodynamic Fairings, Mechanical and Hydraulic Aircraft Components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Application, handling and preparation of water and solvent-based exterior paints and coatings such as silicone, polyurethane, urethane, Teflon / anti-friction coatings and epoxy-based exterior coating systems in accordance with applicable aeronautical technical standards and procedures.
• Application of decals, markings, insignias and lettering using templates and stencils.
• Preparation of composite and metal surfaces to be painted by cleaning, masking, sanding, abrasive media blasting.
• Preparation, application and handling of fire protection coatings to applicable Aircraft component parts.
• Repair of surface irregularities on composite panels / details.
• Component cleaning.
• Instrumented Control measurement of applied paint layers when required.
• Work with work documents that are written in technical English.
• Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Qualification/Requirements

• Skilled time served aerospace painter with spray paint experience "or" experience from similar type of work - Experience from other related skilled trade groups outside the Aviation industry for example automotive, marine or general manufacturing sectors.
• Experience of working with composite materials and bonded structures would be considered a merit but is "Not" a prerequisite.
• Basic computer skills

Conditions:

Working times in Stockholm are scheduled to day shift. A flexitime system for ST Engineering employees is applicable. Overtime can be required on occasion.

Local union collective agreements are applicable.
