The International School of Helsingborg was started in 1995 to meet the demand for education in English in the city and local region, primarily created by the large number of companies located here. After a start with only 13 students, by the beginning of its second year in August 1996 the student roll had grown to 45, at the start of the third year there were 85 students on the roll. In September 1998 the fourth year of the school commenced with a student roll of 107. The fifth year began in September 1999 with a student total of 130. By ISH’s 10th year, number increased to over 300 and is now at 450.
Curriculum and Accreditation
The school is fully approved by the Swedish Department of Education and fully accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization. The PYP aims at the 3-12 year age group, the MYP at the 11-16 year age group and the DP at the 16-19 year age group. The PYP became fully accredited by the IBO in May 2000. The MYP became fully accredited by the IBO in June 2001. The Diploma Programme was authorised in June 2002. Being a state school, the IB programmes are required to be implemented within the framework of the Swedish National Curriculum.
Management
The school is administered by the local municipal authority under the umbrella of the Swedish Department of Education. The local authority is the governing body and the day-to-day running of the school is the responsibility of the school Principals.

KvalifikationerMust have English as mother tongue and have minimum of BA or BS degree. Must have high skills in IT and must have experience as a teacher. Music and/or singing skills are also advantageous to assist with after school clubs.
