Internationella Engelska Skolan i Täby IEST is an established independent school which started in 2006. We are looking for an outstanding English speaking teacher to join us as Academic Coordinator at Täby junior school in August 2012.

The International English School in Täby is an independent school with students in Grades 4-9. Our school is a part of the organisation, Internationella Engelska Skolan i Sverige AB (IES). www.engelska.seThis challenging position involves working closely with the Principal to ensure high academic standards prevail in a calm and safe bilingual environment where teachers can teach and students can learn. Experience of the Swedish National curriculum is essential in combination with a good working knowledge from an English speaking education system. Knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE programmes is also of merit.
It will be your role to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning is consistently good or outstanding, induct, train and develop staff into the high expectations, beliefs and values of the school culture and lead them to become outstanding teachers. You will line manage the heads of department to exceptional performance: a role model, coach and educator for our teaching staff.
The Academic Coordinator will have responsibility for the academic progress of individual and groups of students. It will be your responsibility to organise assessment and homework schedules, analyse data, track progress through our written evaluations/assessments and individual development plans. You will guide our teachers in their understanding of the Swedish curriculum and support them developing bilingualism in the school.
