Mälardalen University is a young university that is focusing on creating value for business and society by advanced education, research and cooperation with external partners. Mälardalen Real-Time Research Centre (MRTC;
www.mrtc.mdh.se) at the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering at MDH provides an international research-intensive environment with strong focus on Embedded systems and Software Engineering. MRTC is hosting a large number of national and international research projects, in many cases in close collaboration with industrial partners.
Based on existing strong research in Real-time systems, Software Engineering and Dependability, MRTC is now making a focused effort into Safety analysis and certification of Software intensive industrial systems, including a larger national project targeting Safety Analysis for Predictable Software Intensive Systems, and having a leading role in the EU/Artemis pSafeCer project with 23 industrial and academic partners from 6 European countries (
http://www.safecer.eu/) .
MRTC is now offering excellent career opportunities for top-talents to work within the SSF funded SYNOPSIS project, which targets cost efficient safety certification in the context of component-based development (CBD).
The SYNOPSIS project aims is to enhance existing CBD frameworks by extending them to include dependability aspects so that the design and the certification of systems can be addressed together with a manageable amount of work. This would allow reasoning about the design and safety aspects of parts of the systems in relative isolation, without consideration of their interfaces and emergent behavior, and then deal with these remaining issues in a more structured manner without having to revert to the current holistic practices.
