What is multidisciplinary research?
Cross-disciplinary and cross-faculty research efforts have been a major success factor at Lund University during the first decade of the 21st century. The Pufendorf Institute was established to provide opportunities for free and new forms of cooperation between researchers in different disciplines and faculty areas. To exemplify: One of the themes currently pursued at the Institute unites researchers from four different faculties, while the other theme involves three different faculties. Both current research themes are based on topical issues that are not currently owned by one single discipline and where the research issues cannot be resolved within a single discipline.
Willingness to cooperate with one or more departments other than that of the fellows own dicipline is a requirement for employment. Applicants will be judged according to qualifications and merits. An advantage will be given to research projects connected to a theme with the potential of integreation therein.
