hela Sverige Combustion Performance Calibration develops the optimized functionality in the control systems for engines and powertrains for several products of the Volvo Group. This covers the whole chain from hardware related parameters, electric hardware parameters, sensor parameters, engine controls parameters (air and fuel injection) function, exhaust after treatment parameters, diagnostic parameters and functional testing in these areas.
The center for heavy duty development is at Powertrain Engineering in Gothenburg. We have co-operations with our colleagues in Hagerstown (USA), Curitiba (Brazil), Ageo (Japan) and Lyon (France). The department consists of about 100 people in ten teams.
The successful candidate will work in our Performance Calibration Vehicle Team which is a dynamic group that is responsible for calibration of vehicle related functions in the engine management system. The group is also responsible for calibration lead of engine projects which includes planning, coordinating, follow-up and delivery of the sections complete datasets. We also make sure that hardware limitation targets regarding vehicle related functions are fulfilled for engines and in vehicles.
The team consists of 10 people with a good atmosphere and a great go-ahead spirit and we are now looking for a person to perform engine calibration of vehicle related functions.
Main Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the calibration and data setting of vehicle related functions in the engine management system. The work is done both by evaluating data and by using subjective measures. The role also includes a close cooperation with software developers both at engine and transmission to test and develop new functions and features. Together with that some work with troubleshooting and vehicle updates can occur.

Professional skills
Master of Science or adequate technical education with interest in combustion engines and heavy duty vehicles. Experience from calibration work of engine management systems is beneficial. Most of the work is done in vehicles therefore driving license for heavy vehicles together with general truck knowledge is also an advantage. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written. As a person you are structured and analytical, organized with planning skills. You enjoy team work, contribute with team spirit and like taking responsibility.
