The department Environment & Fluid Dynamics Centre is responsible for Core Value Environment and has expertise in the fluid dynamic area. We are about 60 employees with a wide variety of skills such as environmental science, material science, fluid dynamics, power train technology, fuel consumption prediction, testing and Computational Fluid Dynamics. We provide engineering and projects with technical recommendations and requirements and verify the product from a complete vehicle perspective, both physically and virtually. Within Material and Weight management we are currently 12 resources and work with two attributes on a vehicle engineering level. Within Weight engineering we cover all aspects of weight on a vehicle level, from concept to the homologation process. And monitor the development within the automotive industry through benchmark. We are currently launching the Optimization Arena at Volvo Car Group, which is a cross technical network for optimization in concept as well as in program phase.
As a Topology Optimisation Responsible you will be a part of the cross-technical network, primarily between calculation and constructing units and will have a central role in multi-disciplinary optimisation We are looking for a person that has a potential for development in the field of CAE and is interested in CAE-driven development and development of guidelines, templates and methods within the area.
Main responsibilities
• Developing methods and guidelines in the design optimisation at complete vehicle level
• Act as support and resource for optimisation in both project and concept phase
• Develop and implement topology optimisation cross constructing units
Required qualifications
• Master of Science or higher education
• Fluent in Swedish and English language
• Good theoretical and technical knowledge in the field of topology optimisation
• Proven experience of computation - and optimization work with an emphasis on topology optimization
• Experience of automotive development is an advantage
• Experience with relevant software applications is a plus (eg Optistruct, TOSCA and necessary pre-processors eg ANSA, Hyper Mesh)
