The AE Engineer is part of the Advanced Engineering (AE) department, within the Research & Development (R&D) organization at TitanX Group level. We are operating in a global market working on global projects in close corporation with TACO. Our environment is intense due to competition and this is what we like.
With the rapid mutation of vehicles from internal combustion engines towards electro-mobility, it is important the AE Engineer has in-depth knowledge in battery cooling and refrigerant cycles. Projects may contain a certain amount of research, new developments or new technologies applied to TitanX products, where the AE Engineer will acquire and develop new skills through training, OJT and own research.
The position is based at our site in Mjällby, Sweden. Swedish or European working permit is an advantage. We also encourage and welcome female candidates.
Your role
You drive the development & validation of new products, new technologies or evolutions of existing ones, including the associated engineering tools, coordinating said activities with all relevant departments inside TitanX and with external partners.
The development work is done in project form, where the AE Engineer's work is to initiate, plan, conduct and coordinate the research, development, design and validation activities that are necessary to drive a concept from idea to mock-ups and prototypes for delivery and further testing, or ready for standardization activities, or direct application in customer application projects. For new systems where customer specifications do not exist, the AE Engineer will develop internal TitanX product requirements along with the project.
Depending on their scope, some projects will have a dedicated project manager while in some other projects the AE Engineer will perform those activities as well. In particular, Senior AE Engineers are expected to show a high level of autonomy in managing the projects they are assigned to.
Your profile
You like working in a climate with rapid changes and are motivated by planning and driving your work and take decisions within your area of responsibility. You are proactive, take initiative, see what needs to be done and do it. You are not afraid to challenge the organization.
Minimum Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at college or engineering school, with focus on Thermodynamics and Heat-Transfer
5 years practical experience in engineering of automotive components, preferably heat-exchangers or cooling systems, and their application to cooling of electrified drivelines
Working knowledge in heat-transfer, and basics of structural strength
Proven CAE skills, especially Matlab, CAD
Presentation and report skills in MS Office
Competences in Research & Development methods and Project Management
Can fluently communicate in English, both in speech and in written.
