The heart of any large industrial company is traditionally said to lie in the manufacturing and a company's success lies in how well and efficiently high-quality products can be produced to the market. The brain behind success is normally found in the innovation and product development capabilities that the organization master. Today's trends are pointing traditional industries to shift focus towards services, expanding the value proposition as far as providing holistic eco-systems for the society. We at IT within the Volvo Construction Equipment are no exception. We provide a complete eco-system of IT Services & Solutions for the Volvo CE Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales and what not, so that Volvo CE can be in the forefront of this transition journey.
We at IT are in a transition journey as well. Implementing new ways of working to improve our efficiency and precision to provide the IT services & solutions that bring the most value for Volvo CE business capabilities. To energize and catalyst the transition in our teams, we have some key positions we plan to establish to secure our success.
The essence
What we are looking for is, let's call it a Test Manager, but it could just as well be called a Quality Lead or even a Verification Specialist. The important thing is you, having quality as your middle-name.
Let me elaborate a bit on the world we are living in right now. We have multiple agile teams in place, delivering IT solutions for Volvo CE product development and aftermarket (Product Lifecycle Management). Some teams are more experienced than others. But what all the teams have in common is a desire to understand how we can spend less time on test and verification, or at least shift left, but still increase the quality of our IT solutions.
The answer could be anything from an altered test strategy through automation, to a built-in quality mindset. This is for you to identify, by working across, and with, the teams and then securing that we change our perspective and mindset for the greater good. We want to be the role-models within our company, and we want you to be part of that journey.
While we pursue to master our ways of working, you might come up with ideas on how to improve our IT solutions, which in turn could make our customers to learn a thing or two about quality as well.
We work in truly global teams. We have team members all around the globe from Asia throughout Europe to the US. So it is important you appreciate occasional weird meeting times and the fact that we spend more time online than face-to-face, even after the Pandemic.
One additional factor, we have a nice mix of SW as a Service, Commercial off the Shelf and proprietary solutions. This means diversity in all dimensions when it comes to our team members, partners and stakeholders.
Oh, one more thing. We are accountable for the entire IT Services, from Infrastructure components to Applications, from Strategy through design to transition and operations. All of it. But you would mainly work with the application teams and our internal customers at Volvo CE.
