Vehicle Dynamics Centre is a department within Vehicle Engineering. The "Braking Attributes and A&V" section is actively participating in the development and verification of the vehicle. We are responsible for analysis, verification and validation of attribute, functions, and systems regarding Braking such as Brake Performance and Brake Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH). In addition, the section is also responsible for the requirements regarding Braking Attributes. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are active and responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the research phase through concept phase, industrialization and post production quality support. Right now we are implementing a completely new Brake Noise test rig at Volvo Car Group. This rig will give us new opportunities to test brakes, both as an input for CAE and instead of or as a complement to vehicle testing.
As Test Engineer Brake Noise you are responsible for planning and performing tests, including analyses of results and reports. You will take part in the development of test methods in our new rig environment. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow's vehicles.
Main responsibilities
• Perform Rig tests, analysis and validation
• Vehicle test
• Development of test methods and working processes
• Documentation of test methods
• Work in a close cooperation with our suppliers and internal stakeholders
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH)
• At least 5 years' experience in relevant area
• Good knowledge in NVH-measurement and analysis
• Good knowledge regarding measurement technology
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Driver's licence (B-level) and good driving skills
• CAE experience in the field of NVH or Structural Dynamics is meritorious
• Experience from testing in complete vehicles and from rig-testing is meritorious
• Experience from measurement systems used in car testing is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Self-driven with a positive attitude
• Able to take initiative and to identify and accomplish challenging objectives
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to plan, conduct, summarise and report your work in a structured and thorough manner
• Good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
