What you'll do
Program Management within S&PM owns the car programs and secures that our offer is optimal over time, and stays in demand with the right product updates. We have the end to end responsibility for our cars. The Vehicle Tech Lead works closely with the Vehicle Program Manager in the crossfunctional Program team.
The Tech lead is accountable for leading the R&D development of a complete vehicle program of high complexity with a large, dispersed team. Focus is on the delivery and industrialisation of the vehicle whilst managing the implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall program with the expectation of delivering on time, within budget, and with content scope. The Tech Lead acts as the main industrial interface towards the program, whilst also working as an advocate for the program towards all relevant stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities as Technical Lead
• Responsible for the industrialisation of the Vehicle Program - Coordinate deliveries from R&D and other E&O organizations (manufacturing, procurement etc) towards the Vehicle program for each stage leading up to and including the industrial launch of the vehicle
• Chair the Vehicle Program Technical meeting and lead the contributors within the team to industrial decisions and execution of the program.
• Track and deliver all VPDS deliverables related to the industrialization of the program.
• Active participant in the Vehicle Program Business Meeting to balancing commercial and business needs with technical solutions.
• Represent the Technical deliveries of the vehicle program together with the Program Manager inmanagement reviews and milestones. Active communicator both internally within R&D and to the entire company.

Your Key tasks
• Lead the industrial team responsible for the program deliveries.
• Secure program resources at R&D, Procurement and Manufacturing in order to execute the industrial development and deliveries
• Control and refine program costs - Investments and Total variable costs.
Follow up status v. targets at all program stages.
• Lead the launch team, daily operations managed by the Manufacuturing lead
• Secure balance of Time-technology-cost for key contributors in the vehicle program. Lead negotiations within the line organizations, manufacturing facilities and attribute centers.
• Develop and follow up on Program work plan (VPP) and the close range plan
• Handle the product structure (Team Center)
• Secure Sourcing Plan
• Secure delivery of attribute and quality targets
• Manage and summarize the technical milestone reports to Business Milestone Review
• Based on program status initiate and follow up decided corrective actions
• Recommend and decide solutions and deviations with business pre-requisites and consequences.

Excellent communication skills and knowledge of how to communicate with a range of roles, from technical experts to pure marketing people. You build trust by transparency and respectfulness. You love to keep things simple and take out the essence in things and swiftly move between an overall perspective and a more detailed focus. You will be expected to build a network within Volvo Cars, quickly learn how the Product Development System works and how business is made. Cross-functional experience is a requirement, and you are a true collaborator!

Experience in ERP tools, program management tools is highly beneficial for this position. We believe that you have a university degree, and that experience from development work in a complex industry could be beneficial as well as project management and agile ways of working. Good leadership skills and good writing skills, especially in English is essential.
