Task Leader - Traction Battery System

In the Traction Battery Team within Electric Propulsion Systems we are responsible for the development of high voltage battery systems. We are the core competence centre in Northern Europe in regards to Lithium Ion technology and automotive battery systems. We are dedicated to electrify our brand in a broad effort with Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). The company target is to electrify 10% of the cars in 2020 and to have 1 million electrified cars on the road in 2025. The rapidly advancing battery technology is the main enabler of the automotive electrification. This is a wonderful challenge on a journey that has only begun, and we now need to re-inforce our team of Task Leaders to achieve the goal.

As Task Leader for the Traction Battery System you will lead a battery development project working with an internal team consisting of approximately 15 people and suppliers based in Korea. You will report to the Manager of the Concept & Industrialisation Management team.

Main responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the battery development project
• Anchor the tasks development, status and prognosis in the line organisation and then report the project structure
• Take measures to eliminate deviations and immediately report deviations
• Follow decided processes Global Product Development Management System (GPDS) and appropriate routines in Business Management System

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. degree in engineering or equivalent
• 3-5 years' experience from automotive industry
• Previous experience from project or team leading roles
• Driver's license (B)
• Excellent English skills, verbal and written

Meritorious experience

• Experience in Volvo Production Development System (VPDS) process
• Competence of Lithium Ion Technology
• Experience from electronics or SW development
• Experience from mechanical development
