Job Description:

Are you a person with a passion for electronic engineering? Do you find the area of embedded electronics interesting and challenging to find solutions towards EMC and harsh environmental environments?
Developing at Volvo CE means that you will be developing electronic parts (ECUs, instrument clusters, displays, keypads, smart sensors etc.) commonly used in all our machines. At Volvo CE you will participate and follow products throughout their complete lifecycle starting from concept, design, industrialization, startup of production, maintenance and quality related issues.
Our challenge is to continue our leading edge and develop electronic platforms to be suitable in our future machines.
To strengthen the HW platform team we are now looking for Systems Engineers within the area Electrical Electronic development.

Responsibilities

You will be part of our skilled hardware development team with focus on electronic engineering. You will participate in and drive activities such as requirement gathering, requirement specification, supplier evaluation, detailed design reviews, documentation, verification and validation, transfer of designs to production and product support. All development takes place in close technical cooperation with our suppliers and internal system engineers to ensure that the component meets Volvo's requirements for quality and function.
To generate ideas and to deliver the right products on time, tight collaboration is needed within and between our project teams. You will also be responsible for driving competence development and sharing of knowledge within your area of expertise.
To enhance ability to deal with complexity, reduce time-to-market, reduce cost and improve quality you will also contribute to the development process for continuous improvements.

This includes responsibilities like:
• Refining functional requirements from Product Management and Stakeholders to the specific component development
• Setting requirements on hardware development towards suppliers
• Handle technical issues towards suppliers and stakeholders
• Review and verify supplier solution, technical design as well as EMC properties
• Develop/create technical roadmaps
• Contributing to developing the area regarding process and methods
• Participating in evaluating suppliers
• Test and verification of functionality implemented in a system or control unit
• Working with maintenance and quality items related to a system or control unit
• Review electrical installation of the component
• Drive commonality solutions
• EMC support

Technical Qualifications:
• Master or Bachelor of Science in relevant field
• Experience of hardware design
• Experience in product development within electronic field
• Knowledge of requirement management and documentation
• Knowledge of basic principles in version and configuration management
• Experience of Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is meritorious
