Place of action
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The Tactical System area is responsible for the functional development of Communications and Data Link, Electronic Warfare, Flight Data and Navigation, Radar and IFF, Sensor Fusion and Tactical Control, Mission Management and EO/IR Systems within Saab Aeronautics. The functionality is implemented in equipment developed by subcontractors, and in own developed software in the onboard aicraft computers.
The section Communications and Data Link is responsible for the development of communications- and tactical data link systems, and we are participating in several projects for the Gripen, AEW&C aircraft and different UAV solutions. The responsibility includes system safety analysis, requirement handling, design, implementation (both in h/w and s/w) and verification.
Tactical Data Links is used to give the pilot/operator a unique situation awareness since he, on his onboard display system, can see other a/c, air and surface targets, threats, etc.

You will participate in the development and integration of the communication and tactical data link systems in the Gripen and Skeldar (UAV). This means that you, as a member of a small team, will be responsible for the development and integration of functionality related to tactical data links within our projects, and you will have extra focus on the system development that realizes the required functionality. The development is done in close cooperation within Saab, external subcontractors and the customer and includes testing in the simulators.
Todays demands
You have an academical degree in engineering.
You are a talented and experienced system developer with an interest in flight and feel that our technical area seems exciting.
You are an analytic and flexible team player who easily learn new things.
You find it easy to express yourself in Swedish and English, both written and oral.
Previous experience of aircraft integration and/or Communications and Data Link Systems are meritorious.
