Screen9 are looking for system developers with strong technical skills in a Linux environment to grow our platform development team. Successful candidates will have a personal interest in software development, value close cooperation with a team of like-minded developers, produce quality results on time and actively contribute to the design of successful technical solutions. Professional experience would be a bonus but is not required for this position.

We offer fresh lakeside offices, a friendly environment and the opportunity to work closely with a team of skilled developers using agile methodologies.

Required skills and knowledge:

• Strong experience in C/C++, Java and/or Python
• Knowledge of Python
• Development experience, preferably with an emphasis on open source tools in a UNIX environment
• Strong written and spoken English

Preferred skills and knowledge:

• Large-scale computing experience including high availability, scalability, reliability and distributed systems
• Experience with Cassandra, Mongodb, Gluster, PostgreSQL, Wowza, Apache and Javascript
• Familiar with design patterns
• Master level degree or equivalent with strong grades
• Practical use of Scrum and Agile or similar lean methodologies
• Proven experience with testing methodologies such as TDD

Professionally you are comfortable delivering to deadlines by managing your own time and priorities well, and are both productive and responsible. You contribute well in teams with clear communication and a positive approach to problem solving. You have a wide knowledge, quickly learn new skills, and are comfortable learning and maintaining a large code base for use in production environments.

Screen9 provides a comprehensive Online Video Platform (OVP) for online video publishing. The platform offers a full range of video publishing tools ranging from easy to use web publishing to feature rich integrations using our robust API. Screen9 is headquartered in Stockholm where this position is available and interviews will be held, but depending on circumstances we also have an office available in Gothenburg.
