The section Strategy and Concept within the department Complete Powertrain Engineering (CPE) is responsible for developing concepts and system solutions for propulsion systems including hybrid systems in Volvo Car Group vehicles. The section consists of about 20 individuals working with systems engineering, concept development, advanced engineering projects and CAE simulations.
As System Developer you will lead technical cross functional system solutions within CPE during the concept development phase. Example of System Development projects is development of a control system for next generation VEA engines including several new technologies. The system developer operates as a leader and leads the system solutions across necessary departments and in cooperation with other units. We are now heading towards an exciting phase with many highly interesting projects about to be kicked off. Therefore we are reinforcing our team with an additional system developer.
Main responsibilities
• Develop and deliver planned system solutions within CPE
• Strengthen Volvo Car Group's competitiveness
• Challenge the organisation and existing technology solutions
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
• 5-10 years of experience from powertrain development tasks
• Experience from all product development phases (advanced engineering, concept, industrialisation, quality, aftermarket)
• Good knowledge of powertrain (powertrain controls, engine, transmission, hybrid, powertrain installations)
• Good knowledge of the energy processes in combustion engines and hybrid powertrains
• Knowledge of energy consumption for propelling a vehicle
• Experience and good understanding of systems engineering
• Interest in cars and powertrains
• Drivers license (B)
• Fluent in English, written and spoken

• Ability to work independent but also enjoy being a part of the development team
