Main responsibilities of the Department
Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new, innovative, and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking, Driver Support, Brake system Software. We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and LIDAR, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
The department consist of over 350 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of:
* Advanced Driver Assistance System
* Protective Safety
* Vehicle Motion & Stability
* Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
We are moving to a more product and value focused organization where teams work tightly together and ensure a strong customer value for the dedicated product area over time.
We are now looking for Team members with System Design competence within the Long Range Vision and Lidar team.
Your overall responsibilities
* Be involved in analysis of high level requirements and writing of detailed requirements
* Specify communications protocols and logic for subsystems
* Lead system safety work on component level
* Make sure systems interact in a correct way and that functions are user oriented
* Support the development of software components from both internal and external software component suppliers
* Be an active participant in discussing and driving technical solutions.
* General tasks from the backlog in cooperation with the team.
Your Qualifications:
* M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar
* Experience of working in requirement management tools such as System Weaver, Elektra, Doors or similar
* Experience of software development in complex embedded systems
* Experience of working with System Safety
* Experience of working with Base Technologies (SWDL, Diagnostics, NVM, etc)
* Knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Agile principles e.g. scrum methodology is meritious.
* Excellent English skills, both verbally and written
* Driver's license (B)
