What's in it for you?
Green Propulsion and Thermal management are increasingly important areas for Volvo Cars to become leading in Electrification. ART Thermal management have a key role in energy efficient propulsion by optimizing control towards customer functions and balancing attributes. The systems are getting more advanced and complex including different temperature levels, cooling down, heating up, transfer/transport and store heat for electric motors, battery, control modules etc. All this needs to be designed with sustainability in focus.
ART Thermal management is a part of the department Battery and Thermal within unit Vehicle propulsion. The ART is divided into two groups, TM System Development and TM Hardware, working closely together. Our group, TM System Development, have complete ownership of Thermal management from first architectural sketch to software release in vehicles. We are 30 persons with high ambitions, different ages, background and experience. We are characterized as an open and friendly group where everyone shares their knowledge with each other.
What you'll do
ART Thermal Management is in transformation to a SW driven organisation. As SW developer focusing System design you will have a key position in this transformation.
Work is done in close cooperation with other ART's, Attributes and Aspects. Within the ART you will work in close cooperation with our System architects, SW & Function developers, CAE and Component responsible. Challenges ahead are efficient control, testing of SW and XXX.
As an experienced developer working with SW development and System design you are a key person in making Thermal Management into a SW driven ART. You work in close cooperation with other ART's, SW developers and Aspects. Collaborate and support to other brand is also part of your responsibility. Within the ART you will work in close cooperation with our System architects, SW developers, CAE and Component responsible.
You will also:
* Lead and coordinate the system design and implementation of Thermal management functionality across ART's.
* Participate in future development and improvement of our Thermal Management functionalities, documented in our Technical and Functional Roadmaps
* Participate in system safety work such as HARA, and lead needed developments for FTAs, TSCs or similar.
* Lead the system design work with allocation of both software components, actuators and sensors.
* Break down functional behavior to requirements on SW implementation, both within our ART and to other ARTs if needed.
* Participate in developing our Verification plan (AVB) on system- and complete vehicle level, regarding the function, both generic and per program.
* Participate with the development of our ART's modules and interfaces, together with our system architects
* Participate in benchmark work within SW area.
Do you fit the profile?
You are experienced with agile development and software development best practices.

* University degree on BSc or MSc within mechatronic, electrical or electronics, 4-8 year working experience within relevant field
* You embrace the challenge in making ART Thermal Management in a SW driven organisation
* Experience from SW development, System design and Function ownership within automotive development is meritorious
* Unit testing?
* C/C++ experience
* Curious, structured, good analytical skills and a great technical interest
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driving license (B)
