As Sustainability Manager, you will have overall responsibility for strategically leading, coordinating, and continuously developing the organization's work across sustainability, environment, health and safety (EHS) within a factory environment. You will work closely with production teams and be actively present on the production floor, ensuring that EHS practices are fully integrated into daily operations while also maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and global and regional standards.
You will play a key role in embedding ESG and Health & Safety priorities into daily operations, ensuring that defined targets, KPIs, and certifications are delivered and continuously improved. The role includes responsibility for regulatory and authority interactions, accurate and reliable EHS reporting, monitoring and forecasting energy and resource consumption, as well as risk management, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning.
As part of the assignment, you will be an important driver of the factory's lean and continuous improvement journey, with a strong focus on eliminating losses and driving operational excellence. You will ensure structured ways of working, measurable results, and a culture of continuous improvement embedded in daily operations. The role also includes EHS budget responsibility and leadership of a small team.
This is a consultancy assignment, initially for one and a half year, with a preferred start date of March 1, 2026. Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday. The position is based in a production facility in the Malmö area and is part of a global organization.
About you
You are an engaging leader with strong integrity and a clear business-oriented sustainability mindset. You think strategically while being highly capable of translating strategy into concrete actions in an operational manufacturing environment.
You bring solid expertise within sustainability and EHS, a strong understanding of legal and compliance frameworks, and experience from manufacturing or industrial operations. Through a coaching and inclusive leadership style, you create engagement, develop high-performing teams, and build trust across all levels of the organization.
As a person, you are adaptable, solution-oriented, and decisive, with excellent communication skills. You collaborate naturally with a wide range of stakeholders and act as a visible role model in safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Important for the role:
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop and empower others
• Strong background in sustainability and health & safety
• Experience from manufacturing and production environment
• Experience working with legal requirements and compliance frameworks within EHS
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office and analytical tools
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Project management skills is meritorious
• Knowledge of Swedish, European, and/or international standards (SS, EN, ISO) is meritorious
