hela Sverige The Infrastructure Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Sustainability Coordinator.
Description of directorate/division
The Conventional Facilities (CF) division is responsible for the planning, design and construction of all buildings and installations required for operation of the accelerator, target and instruments.
CF works also include site and infrastructure preparation, construction support, all facility buildings, user and general service buildings.
Description of main responsibilities
ESS is looking for a sustainability coordinator for the construction phase of ESS. The aim for the ESS project is to have a collaboration contract that means that part of the project management will come from the contractor and part will come from ESS. Depending on the needs of the collaboration organisation, the Sustainability Coordinator may be positioned in the collaboration organisation in part and positioned in the construction support team in part.
The main tasks include:
• Contributing to the construction and design teams with sustainability expertise and support
• Continuous coordination and follow-up of the sustainability-related aspects
• Assist in implementing the CF sustainability strategy
• Ensure that information is transferred from other functions within the project, mainly the CF design team, the energy division and the environment, safety and health division, to the Collaboration organisation
The successful candidate has an MSc or BSc in relevant field of expertise and 1-3 years experience from working with sustainability aspects in construction projects is an advantage. You have knowledge of environmental classification systems for construction, i.e BREEAM, LEED, Miljöbyggnad.
You are a team-player with an ability to balance between steering and supporting other team members in sustainability aspects. Furthermore you are open to take on new tasks, able to multitask and well organised with the ability to overlook the construction process and the implications of day-to-day activities on the sustainability performance. Your English skills are excellent both oral and written.
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
