http://husqvarnagroup.comGlobal Design is responsible for the industrial design for all products and brands (i.e. Husqvarna, Gardena, Jonsered, McCulloch, Flymo, Weedeater, Poulan PRO) within the Husqvarna Group. Global design is a core team of 22 people in Charlotte, US and Stockholm, SW. The Stockholm office is placed in the heart of Stockholm at Regeringsgatan.
As a Surface Designer (Digital Sculptor) you will be involved in product development from first concept through to manufacturing of all products and brands, always with the end user in mind.
Global Design is in the for-front in how to build Design Surfaces in CATIA V5 with free-form modules like FSS. The role incorporates form, ergonomics, close cooperation with engineering, production and manufacturing/assembly processes in all final surface designs. You will have a tight collaboration with industrial- and graphic designers to guarantee that the aim of the brand design is implemented into manufacturing.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Delivering surfaces from concept to final productionfor all products according to the brand design strategy
• CAD quality and secure geometry
• Secure that final form is aimed at/according to the defined production process.
• Have a good knowledge of materials and different production methods
Requirements:
• High skills in Computer Aided Design. (Catia V5 , Alias Studiotools and Icem Surf are appreciated)
• 3 years of experience within product development. (Surface Designer/ Design Engineer)
• High passion for form and design
• Experience in managing projects in cross-functional teams
This position is suited to those who a have good understanding of, materials, engineering, production and manufacturing processes. As this position requires you to work in a team as well as individually you have to possess good communication and presentation attributes in an international environment. Creative thinking, strong organizational skills and ability to run projects efficiently to meet deadlines are highly valued. Fluency in English is crucial since many projects are run towards countries like Germany, USA, China and Japan etc.
