Position description:

Responsibilities:

The position involves responsibility for all structural engineering within the Work Package.

Main tasks (project):

• Responsible for the technical aspect of the projects, including responsibility for the engineering function and engineering method for Structures (PEM).
• Read and understand technical and commercial content of contract
• Report potential internal cost/schedule issues continuously
• Give input to VO/VOR or other changes/deviations.

• Responsible for follow up HSE related matters within the Structural engineering group
• Plan and manage all Structural engineering activities.
• Work closely with the Engineering Lead and Planner in order to establish a properly linked schedule, ie make sure that engineering and fabrication activities are linked and sequences follow a logical path
• Take ownership of MPP and report changed requirements based on MDL progress.
• Report progress and status input to monthly reports etc.

• Prepare MDL for all Structural documents.
• Define ALL documents needed to ensure delivery
• Align dates with Procurement plan and Fabrication plan
• Use look-ahead reports to monitor progress and reforecast documents and align new dates with fabrication

• Manage internal and external Structural interfaces
• Focus on interfaces which effects the structural work package
• Define need dates and follow-up in Interface Register (SWIMS or other)
• Participate in interface meetings

• Prepare and present Structural part of Design Reviews
• Follow-up cost
• Give technical support to procurement, subcontractors and fabricators
• Actively participate in procurement process and follow-up technical part of all structural PO’s
• Follow-up technical activities with sub-contractors (FAT etc) for all non-standard products.
• Technical follow-up of fabrication (changes, VO’s, site queries etc)

• Delegate work to Structural Engineers and follow-up within the work package.

Other tasks (basis):

• Contribute to maintaining and updating selected Structural engineering related procedures and drawings within the department
• Give technical support to procurement, sales and tendering activities

Skills and required experience:

Candidates should have the following skills:

• MSc or equivalent degree in Engineering within Mechanical, Structural or Naval Architecture
• 4 to 7 years engineering experience, preferably from subsea or offshore design and fabrication
• Focus on commercial issues – including contract, cost and schedule
• Strong design and engineering skills
• Ability to work in teams
• Leadership skills
• Ability to handle pressure from both internal and external stakeholders
