The team
This role is withing the Propulsion System Control team that is a part of the wider Electric Propulsion System in the Electromobility organization. They are developing gear handling and the distribution of torque and power to the electric engines. An important aspect of this is to improve the effective range of the electric vehicles by optimizing gear and use of engines.
The team delivers functions to the entire AB Volvo - Penta, Buses, Trucks and Construction Equipment, but is a quite small and closely knit team that collaborate and help each other.
A main part of the work is model based function development in TargetLink, but they work within a large part of the "V" in the V-model; requirements, function development, code review, unit test and test in vehicles and the team members are working with some, or all, of the following: embedded software development, TargetLink, Simulink, programming in C-code, python, Ascet, SystemWeaver, requirement management, testing and verifying in MIL and real vehicles.
The role
The main tasks in this role is to do model based function development in Target Link. Target Link is a proprietary software similar to Simulink/Matlab that generates C code for electronic control units.
You will also be involved in defining requirements together with your colleagues. Talking to people from other parts of Volvo and understanding their needs and requirements and translating them to system requirements.
You will also be involved in testing the function, both in MIL (model in the loop) environments as well as in vehicles.
Your profile
You are excited and motivated to contribute to Volvo's electrification journey and you have an interest in developing vehicles. You enjoy collaborating with other people, both in your team and in the wider organization and you have good social and communication skills
Msc or Bsc in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mobility engineering or similar field
Matlab/Simulink experience
Experience in any programming language
It is considered a plus if you also have:
Experience in C and C++
Python experience
Talent Program
This position is a part of Hubbau's talent program and is a collaboration between Hubbau and Volvo GTT. During the 12 months of the talent program, you will be employed by Hubbau and work as a consultant in your specific role at Volvo GTT. The ambition is for your employment to smoothly transition to a permanent position at Volvo GTT thereafter. The goal is to provide you with an even more rewarding first year that sets you up for success at Volvo GTT and in your future career. The talent program offers training sessions from specialists within Vinngroup to build up your knowledge base.

The program commences on September 3rd, 2024.
