Technical Skills
5+ years of hands-on experience with C / C++ build environments.
Strong programming experience in Python, C / C++.
Experience with build systems and automation tools: Yocto, Bazel, CMake.
Experience with source code repositories, preferably Gerrit (including automated extraction and metadata querying).
Familiarity with software version handling, dependency graphs, and artifact traceability.
Comfortable scripting and automation in Unix/Linux environments.
Documentation & Tooling
Experience documenting technical processes in Confluence.
Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar enterprise documentation platforms.
Strong usage of JIRA for issue tracking and Agile workflows.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Desire to proactively improve process quality and automation.
Job Responsibilities
SBOM Automation
Design, implement, and maintain automated processes for extracting SBOM data from source repositories (e.g., Gerrit) and build systems.
Develop and integrate tools that automate SBOM generation workflows - minimizing manual effort and ensuring accurate results.
Implement version handling and change tracking across components.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to define SBOM format standards and integration requirements.
Development & Tooling
Build reusable scripts and tools in Python and other languages to support SBOM extraction, correlation, and reporting.
Integrate automation with existing build infrastructures such as Yocto, Bazel, CMake, and related CI systems.
Partner with platform engineers to align SBOM generation with build pipelines and development workflows.
Documentation & Reporting
Produce clear documentation of SBOM extraction logic, data models, and automation architecture.
Develop and maintain technical documentation using Confluence and Teamcenter.
Track issues, plan tasks, and manage development artifacts via JIRA.
Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with software engineers, embedded systems teams, QA/test automation, and security stakeholders to ensure consistency and completeness of SBOM data.
Communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Department/Project Description
We are seeking a highly motivated S-BOM Engineer to automate and maintain the extraction and generation of Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) data. The role will work closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams to ensure accurate software inventory, traceability, and version control automation from source repositories and build systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with C/C++ build environments, modern tooling automation, and experience integrating source control and build automation systems.
