Software Design Engineer - Supportive Safety

At Research and Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers from around the world, you will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Are you interested in development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)? Do you share our passion for people, the environment and our urge to create a superior driving experience? Then Research and Development may be the place for you.

The Safety Electronics department has been one of the fastest growing parts of Volvo Car Group over the last decade due to rapid development of Active Safety systems and functionality. By continuously launching innovative and world first active safety features Volvo Cars has positioned itself among the leaders in the automotive industry and now the work towards achieving our vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo continues.

Safety Electronics consists of approximately 80 employees organised into four sections: Preventive Safety, Protective Safety, Supportive Safety and Sensor Fusion. Within the department we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Full Automatic Parking, Driver Support and Protective Safety.
