ABB is a market leader in Hoisting, working towards developing new systems as well as optimizing existing ones. In this position, you will work as a site manager and commissioning engineer for our Hoisting Projects and be part of the team in Sweden working on projects all over the world.
In this role, the site manager drives excellence, by leading all on-site project activities to insure cost-effective and safe execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule and safety requirements as well as also acting as commissioning lead in projects of low to medium complexity, while ensuring completion of all commissioning activities.
Your responsibilities
Plan on site activities with Project Manager to include necessary local resources and equipment for achieving project milestones. Coordinate agreements between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
Responsible for receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager and handing over to the end customer on completion day, coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
Serve as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.
Ensure detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place with respect to each work package, compliant with ABB H&S plan. Also, ensure all on-site resources are properly trained with regards to ABB's health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes H&S considerations to project partners throughout the project. Empowered to suspend any activities on site (be it by ABB personnel or by subcontractors) in case of any violation and, if a situation arises, take the necessary steps to ensure that ABB employees and other persons who may be present are not put at risk.
Conduct risk and opportunity assessment during commissioning phase.
Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of ABB-delivered equipment.
Manage subcontractors on site.
Control project cost for project site works, ensure documentation.
Contribute to planning and implementation of commissioning activities.
Assist in creating proposals for engineering projects.
Support contract managers in issuing claims.
Your background
Minimum 5 years of experience working as site manager in Mining industry, preferably Hoisting.
Electrical/ Mechanical engineering background or other relevant education.
Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning or repairing for installed base and new projects.
A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies and will to develop new and existing services, tools and processes.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong written and spoken communication skills.
Fluent in English.
