The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is looking to add a SharePoint Site Collection Officer to our team. If you are passionate about technology, have the right skillset and want to use it as a force for building peace, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!About the RoleAs LPI's SharePoint Site Collection Officer, you will lead and quality assure the implementation and maintenance of the SharePoint online system for LPI. A core part of your role will be training and supporting LPI's teams to have the skills needed to implement LPI's new digital filing policy. Your strong collaborative spirit, experience working successfully in cross cultural workplaces, and fundamental belief in people will help you connect with teams and overcome barriers to technical tasks.Behind the scenes, your training and experience in the operations and management of Microsoft Office SharePoint Online and SharePoint servers of varying size and complexity will allow you to be LPI's system owner. You will finalize the LPI term store and metadata protocols. On an ongoing basis, you will improve the LPI SharePoint Team site architecture and build in additional functionality as they are released by Microsoft and relevant to and needed by LPI's teams. You will also be our kind but persistent vanguard as you monitor and edit site content as required to ensure activity follows company guidelines and expectations. You will also update permissions and SharePoint groups as the site rolls out and LPI grows and evolves.You will work closely with the other members of the organisation and your overall areas of responsibilities will include:- Assist in planning and documentation of projects related to the development and maintenance of the SharePoint environment- In collaboration with other team members, assist in the overall management of the SharePoint environment from both an operational perspective and an end-user perspective- Develop documentation, validate, and monitor that operational policies are being met- Create documentation, and assist in the planning aspects of future enhancements- Assist in the development and implementation of site layouts, site templates, user navigation strategies, and information/data management strategies- Perform configuration and management of SharePoint environments to meet requirements for site functionality.About you The ideal candidate will be deeply technical and experienced in SharePoint development and maintenance and at the same time deeply empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting others to engage with new technologies.Required demonstrated experience:- SharePoint Development (Office 365) - 3-5 years of recent SharePoint experience - Essential o Setup, configuration, and management of SharePoint environmentso Basic SharePoint tasks:§ Creation of sites, sub-sites, and sub areas§ Development of data views§ Management of user population§ Moving sites and lists within the MOSS environmento Implementation of features and web parts.- Proven experience with analysing and documenting complex processes and workflows and interacting directly with end users - Essential o Strong implementation, user support and training capabilities§ Record Management Expert§ User Education/Training§ User Support§ Must have documented experience implementing, managing, and documenting a production SharePoint environment with over 50 users- Proven experience with tools and methodologies for requirements gathering and modelling, tracking and project management - Essential Academic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer science or any IT related field - Evidence of education/courses in data analysis, business analysis, and financial analysis all focused on the delivery of IT services - Certification in Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or (MCSD) Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer - Desired.Expected abilities:- Must be "technically deep" - able to articulate the positive and negative aspects of how architectural choices impact the SharePoint environment and end-users. - Critical - Professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and communication skills in English- Positive, realistic, patient, and collaborative attitude towards supporting adults who have different expertise than you to adopt and feel comfortable with new platforms.- Willingness and ability to travel to all countries of operation- Additional language abilities are considered a merit, including Swahili, Somali, Arabic, Swedish, Amharic, and French.
