We are now looking for a Manager for the IoT Build & Improve Core unit.
The Manager IoT Build & Improve Core is responsible for the building and taking new versions into operation of 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile core and cloud, IP networks, infrastructure, platforms and associated services, as part of Ericsson's IoT Accelerator solution. This role is a leadership role within BTEB IoT Operations Engineering organization, reporting to the Head of IoT Engineering.
The following nodes comprise the area IoT Core: STP, GGSN, EPG, vEPG, UDC (HLR-FE, CUDB, PG), LTE (HSS-FE, DSC), MPBN including IPWORKS (DNS, Radius), SAPC and non-Ericsson products, such as SMSC from Sinch, OSIX probes from Polystar, routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
Responsibilities:
The Manager IoT Build & Improve Core is responsible that the unit, in a timely and well-planned manner, within budgets and with defined quality objectives, is:
building new mobile core and IP networks and taking these into first commercial deployment
validating new solutions and services end to end
improving mobile core and cloud, IP networks, infrastructure, platforms and associated services
producing and updating documentation, such as High-Level Design and Low-Level Design etc.
handover to Network Operations Center(s), according to handover requirements
stay informed about industry practices and professional / technical development
planning of component and system Life Cycle Management and Change Management
initiating and executing automation, cost and efficiency improvements and flow optimization programs
providing trouble shooting support, when requested
providing onboarding support, when requested
The Manager IoT Build & Improve Core is also responsible for:
unit financial and operational performance, target achievement and progress reporting
unit budget planning, cost control and reporting as per the BTEB instructions
acting as an active member in the BTEB IoT Operations Engineering leadership team
promoting collaboration, knowledge and best practice sharing
defining long term competence needs
recruitment, people development and creating a high-performance culture
rightsizing, in cooperation with internal and external service delivery centers and partners
involving staff through active participation in goal setting, encouraging their sense of ownership and commitment to achieve the required business objectives
ensuring staff present ownership of assignments, responsibility and act with a sense of urgency
performing Individual Performance Management (IPM) according to People Function directives and regular check-ins
performing Annual Salary Revision according to People Function instructions
providing all unit staff continuous support and coaching - ensure that no one is ever left behind
Key Qualifications:
M.Sc. (Telecommunication / Computer Science)
Industry Experience:
Telecom software development - programming / integration: at least 2 years' experience
Telecom Operations / Service Delivery: at least 2 years' line management experience of teams larger than 10 people
Telecom Project / Program Management / Managed Services: at least 4 years' experience in direct customer facing roles with delivery responsibilities
Telecom experience: at least 8 years' experience
Human and Business Competences:
Well-developed line management and leadership skills, leading by example. Self-motivated and works well under pressure
Capable people manager of running a highly skilled and diverse team, and empathic leader that builds trust and lasting relationships with both internal and external customers.
Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience and a solid understanding of Ericsson IoT portfolio are a bonus.
Responsible for forecasting with our suppliers, hardware, software and licensing requirements associated with the build and improve Core activities, internal and external.
High degree of accountability and integrity
Ability to simplify, good sense for details as well as high level thought leadership
Performance and result oriented with good skills in leading and motivating people and conscious of responsibility and empowerment
Ability to communicate effectively, both within and outside the company

Proven experience from Ericsson's software development models (Lean, Agile, CI/CD)
Proven experience in Ericsson's service delivery processes (customer projects, managed services, systems integration, customer support
Proven skills in leading multi-cultural and geographically distributed teams
Good knowledge of Ericsson Core and Cloud portfolio, IP Networks
Good understanding of Ericsson organizational structure
