The Global Sourcing Buyer drives and executes all contractual- and sourcing activities up to supplier selection with the purpose of selecting the most competitive suppliers from a Quality Delivery Cost and Feature perspective in accordance with the Sourcing strategy and the Projects' requirements. This position has a global scope for the segments of Axle & Propshaft Powertrain Sourcing.
Responsibilities
• Lead, negotiate and execute all sourcing activities in every phase of the product life cycle; i.e. Technology development (AE) projects, GDP projects, PMR's when a new supplier is needed (e.g. supplier switches).
• Manage and maintain the Taxonomy in his/her scope, taking into account the impact on Operation and Project. Support the segmentation quality.
• Identify new suppliers when needed.
• Lead all purchasing activities related to involvement of suppliers in Technology development (AE) projects.
• Negotiate; ensure signature and storage of all relevant agreements (incl. raw material agreement) in all phases of the product life cycle, including business extension.
• Negotiate optimized part-, tool-, development-, prototype cost, payment terms and productivity commitments with the suppliers in the sourcing phase.
• Follow market- and technology development in its area of expertise.
• Contribute or lead to the development of sourcing strategy, and ensure implementation.
• Ensure a timely finalization of the sourcing process with signed agreements and a hand-over to one or several project buyers (Hand-over 2).
• Ensure collaboration with the other buyer roles within the respective segment(s).
• Depending on the supplier company size he/she can be appointed as GTT and/or Volvo Group Supplier Host for assigned suppliers.
• Deliver the KPI's for his/her related area

Qualifications

• BS degree in Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience
• 5 years' experience as sourcing Buyer and/or in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken / other language has an added value
• Independent
• Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives
