Pharmaceutical and Analytical R&D (PAR&D) develop products for pre-clinical and clinical studies as well as commercial products for the treatment of diseases in the therapeutic areas of Neuroscience, Cardiovascular/Gastrointestinal, Respiratory & Inflammation, Infection & Oncology.
Analytical Development is responsible for method development and validation, stability testing of new drug substances/products, compiling regulatory files and technology transfer to manufacturing.
The role:
As an analytical chemist you will be an active member of a team in Analytical Development in Mölndal. You will share your expert knowledge in a common effort to drive projects forward. You acquire an understanding of the drug development process and coordinate project work within your own function. You apply your specialist knowledge in an area of Analytical Chemistry with a clear focus on delivering laboratory and documentation work within projects.
In your role you will:
• design and accomplish analytical studies to determine the quality and stability of drug substances and drug products
• assess and report data with a clear understanding of its reliability, interpret findings and draw authoritative conclusions and recommendations
• apply technical knowledge and expertise to achieve project targets to agreed timelines and an appropriate quality level
• develop and maintain a level of knowledge and competence, perhaps extending to specialist expertise in a specific area of Analytical Chemistry to meet the needs from the projects
• establish networks within and outside own organisation to build an understanding of the drug development process
• generate methods, plans, protocols and reports ensuring that project objectives are met
• take a leading and coaching role in e.g. the coordination of working groups according to specific needs
Minimum experience/requirements:
You have
• educational background at research level in a discipline relevant to analytical chemistry or equivalent qualifications and work-life experience
• strong hands-on experience from analytical chemistry laboratory work
• experience of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry technologies such as chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques
• experience in dealing with technical problems and in resolving complex issues
• good skills in written and spoken English
You may have
• analytical experience in solid-state methodologies
• experience in polymer analytical chemistry
• experience in experimental design and data evaluation
• experience from and understanding requirements of GMP regulated work
• experience in leading multidisciplinary working groups
Success factors:
With a clear focus on providing what is needed in the drug development project you build a deep understanding of the drug development process. To achieve this you form networks with people in your own function as well as in other functions. You are open to change and drive new ways of working to make projects more efficient and you may introduce new methodologies as a result of specific project needs. You apply your coaching and leadership capabilities to coordinate/lead working groups in areas of analytical methodologies and/or project work.
