At ABB, we have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions: gender, LGBTQ+, abilities, ethnicity and generations. Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.
We are facing many important and interesting challenges in our industries right now. Mining, for example, is essential for a sustainable world - cellphones, computers, batteries, wind farms...virtually every aspect of modern life relies on the ores mined from the earth. But that same industry accounts for up to 7% of all greenhouse gas emissions. At ABB Process Industries product group Mining, Aluminium and Cement (MAC), sustainability in all dimensions is core to us and we push technology to enable our customers to contribute to a low-carbon society in a responsible way.
To create solutions that makes a difference, many areas need to be taken in careful consideration. One key area where we are ramping up is user experience. With the mining industry going sustainable, digital, autonomous and remote, we are facing many new situations that different users need to manage and interact with. This is highly affecting the ways of work in mining today, the expectations and demands on every human user is under a change. Good user experience design is vital in forming the next generation of attractive, human centered, productive and diverse workplaces.
