AstraZeneca's Early Clinical Group are looking for experienced technical Data Operation Programmer to join our Clinical Trial Data Science Group.
Our Clinical Trial Data Science programming group is focused on delivering innovation and seeking out opportunity within the ECD Biometrics group. This small, dynamic group allows programmers to get involved in multiple activities and initiatives, as well as shaping its culture and contributing towards continuous improvement in solutions delivery.
We are currently looking for proactive, innovative, experienced Senior/Principal Data Operation Programmers to focus on bringing efficiencies to our group, through evaluation, design, development, and maintenance of tools and utilities in collecting different types of data and the production of analysis.
As a Senior Data Operation Programmer your proven programming expertise will be a key in developing and maintenance of tools, utilities and efficiencies in the collecting different types of data and the production of analysis in ECD.
As a Principal Data Operation Programmer your proven programming expertise will be a key in influencing and leading projects, decision making and delivering best practice.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Demonstrates extensive programming expertise, with a problem-solving quality focus
* Lead evaluations of programming tools and efficiencies in collecting different types of data and production of analysis in ECD.
* Accountable for the design, development and maintenance of utilities, tools and process to support programming efficiencies across the area of ECD programming
* Acts as a source of knowledge in area of expertise, defining and communicating important initiatives across department and functions
* Contributes to establishing and implementing policies, procedures and objectives for own work or though managing a team.
* Accountable for specialised research or delivery of internal reports to enhance the effectiveness of Programming
Essential requirements
* BSc or post graduate qualification (or local equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Life or Social Sciences or equivalent experience
* Experienced in leading efficiencies and improvements in programming utilities and tools
* Extensive SAS programming expertise
* Understanding of (or working knowledge in) other programming languages e.g. R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, Python or Pearl an advantage.
* Excellent Knowledge of Analysis and Reporting within Clinical Development
* Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills
* Truth seeking rather than success seeking
* The ability to proactively drive innovations
* Demonstrate a passion for knowledge in the latest technical trends
