In recent years the demand for electrified vehicles, together with its services, has constantly been increasing. The opportunities and challenges that lies in front of us are no longer just on the vehicle side, but nowadays also on the charging infrastructure, cybersecurity and communication between vehicle and back-office.

Our team plays a big and important role in the value stream of electromobility solutions where we are responsible for the development and integration of new functions and features in our vehicles. What can we propose?
You will contribute to our world-class development and integration of electrical system solutions with the aim to reach our Zero City vision: zero emissions, zero noise, zero accidents and zero congestion. You will be part of the development within the packaging and installation area in our electromobility vehicles and will work closely together with different stakeholders within AB Volvo in order to achieve our customer's expectations.
The role consists in identifying and breaking down product requirements into technical solutions for the packaging and installation. You will design the wiring routing and installation of electrical components for the traction voltage system and be involved in all phases of the product development process.

B.Sc. or higher education in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering or similar is highly valuable as well as previous experience from packaging and installation. Previous experience from electrified vehicles is considered as meritorious and so is general high voltage knowledge.
Since you have good engineering judgment and priorities, you have the ability and interest to technically support and challenge colleagues in their work and their mindset. You like to share your passion for technical solutions, and you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a person you are positive, you display driving force and have a structured way of working.
Main area of responsibility:
You will be a part of the Electromobility group within the Electrical & Software Architecture Department. You will play an important role in achieving our Electromobility program targets and your main responsibilities are:
Drive the packaging and installation development for the traction voltage system
Create digital models, including wiring routing and installation
Design fixation for electrical components
Align installation requirements with internal and external stakeholders
Follow-up vehicle builds during the development phase using analytical and detailed-oriented skills targeting the improvement of the design
