University College Stockholm consists of two research-oriented schools, the Stockholm School of Human Rights and Stockholm School of Theology. The latter consists of two departments, the Department of Religious Studies and Theology and the Department of Eastern Christian Studies. The overall purpose is to foster outstanding research and education of the highest quality and to interact in various ways with Church and Society. Our most valuable asset is our students who, with their willingness to develop and learn, make Stockholm School of Theology one of Scandinavia's prominent theological schools.

Subject Orientation: Eastern Christian Ecclesiology with Ecumenism. The area of study has three objectives: A. International and External Relations with emphasis on how the Orthodox churches relate to each other and how they express themselves in society and in relation to other Christian communities and religions; B. Inter-Orthodox integrity with emphasis on how Chalcedonian and non-Chalcedonian churches relate to each other and long for reconciliation; C. Ecumenism, with emphasis on contemporary methods for overcoming Christian division.

Access according to agreement. Employment rate 50 percent.

Employment period: Permanent employment, with a prior probation employment of six months.

Tasks: The position includes research relating to the subject orientation, teaching, course responsibilities, examination, supervision, and administration.

Senior Lecturers with 50% or more, may apply for research up to 1/3 of the service. Ordinary professor may apply for up to 50% research of the service (225 lecturer hours of 450 at full-time service). Promoted professors or extra ordinary professors has the opportunity to apply for up to 44% research in the service (200 lecturer hours of 450 at full-time service).

Eligibility requirements: The applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree in theology or the like, with a specialization towards the Eastern Churches (see Subject Orientation). In addition, the applicant eligible for employment in this position, is required to have documented and relevant pedagogical skills and the personal qualities required to fulfill the employment well.

For eligibility, the ability to teach in English is required. Excellent language skills in both Russian and Greek is also required. International experience from Ecumenical dialogues is seen as strongly meritorious.

Assessment grounds: When selecting among eligible applicants, special emphasis will be placed on scientific skills. With reference to the nature of the employment, the applicants' scientific and pedagogical qualifications should be assessed primarily in qualitative terms.
Scientific skill refers to research merit.

Pedagogical Skills: Pedagogical skills and scientific skills are of equal importance for the position. When assessing pedagogical skills, pedagogical quality will primarily be taken into account. Also, scope, both breadth and depth, will be taken into consideration. The pedagogical skill must be well documented so that quality can be assessed.

Other skills: Administrative skill and management skills will be given weight. Such skills include capacity for business planning and ability to cooperate.

In addition, special emphasis is placed on the applicant's prerequisites for contributing to future development of both research and education.
