Company Description
Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK. The Vattenfall Group has approximately 20,000 employees. We have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming life through innovation for more than 100 years. We now want to make fossil free living possible within one generation and we are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system.

Job Description
All employees at Vattenfall are energized by one essential goal: to power climate smarter living and become fossil free within one generation. This requires broader thinking and real changes. It requires people who want to make a real difference.
Would you like to work closely together with System Architects, Senior Project Managers and various Agile teams in moving our company towards becoming fossil free in one generation?
We are now looking for a Senior Business Analyst for BA Markets located in either Stockholm or Hamburg.
Business Area (BA) Markets maximizes the value of Vattenfall's portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging and sourcing for Vattenfall's assets and sales positions. We offer power purchase agreements to operators of wind or solar parks, optimize 3rd party batteries and enter into origination deals within the B2B segment. We serve as Vattenfall's single market access to energy commodity markets trading in electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. We are responsible for generating profits by taking positions within defined risk mandates and limits.
You will be part of the team Initiative Management with team members in Hamburg and Stockholm. As a Business Analyst you can be part of an Agile Team but more often you will be working on more complex initiatives driving digital transformation that will require analysis and structuring before being allocated to Agile Team backlogs as well as helping out coordinating such initiatives across involved Agile Teams. The level of complexity is often high involving different systems and organizations (even across different Business Areas).
About the position
We are looking for someone who is experienced in managing complexity and at times, ambiguity. In such circumstances, you take initiatives to navigate through problems with a positive and open mindset. When needed, you have the ability to both work independently and lead others. You have good communication skills especially with regards to explaining problems and proposed solutions.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Typical tasks involve problem and opportunity analysis, clarifying root causes to various pain points in our business processes, analysing and defining new Target Operating Models, defining risk & control frameworks, innovating better processes and ways of working, analysing how to best accommodate new requirements on our operation, structuring requirements for development and for bigger tender processes, and translating regulatory changes into clear requirements on our solutions.

Qualifications
An University degree (Bachelor/Masters) within the areas Oil and Energy, Engineering, IT or similar
A good understanding about the Energy industry and how the Energy Markets work
Good Business Acumen and interest in the Business models
Ability to combine conceptual/big picture analysis with attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to challenge status quo
Systematic and good knowledge about practical Business Analysis methods
Travel is required in this position to our other Vattenfall offices.
You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in Swedish and/or German is a merit
