Samples Sourcing Officer to Cavidi, an innovative Uppsala-based medtech company
The challenge in this role is to gain access, quickly and efficiently, to the human blood plasma samples ("samples") that Cavidi needs to complete verification and validation. You need to be able to open doors and get access to the samples we need.
The secondary challenge is to manage the samples that we have in-house and ensure that they are categorized, used and re-ordered as required.
Description of the role
Cavidi immediately needs to fill the position as Sourcing Officer for sourcing of samples to secure in-house availability of well-characterized human plasma samples for system and assay verification, QC of reagents and kits, validation and further assay development.
The Sourcing Officer is responsible for:
• Open doors and make connections on a global market
• Finding, securing and importing the samples
• Ensuring efficient logistics and an unbroken chain of correct sample handling
This role can potentially also include responsibility for the internal sample bank if this fits the candidates's profile. Alternatively we can support the Samples Sourcing Officer with other staff who handle the administration of the samples.
Qualifications for the role
• A background in science and several years of experience from Life Science Business, preferably IVD.
• A large active network within Life Science is required
• Experience from sourcing clinical samples in relatively large volumes.
• Experience of working in an international setting
• Experience from bio banks is an advantage
• Experience from positions within marketing and sales is considered an advantage
Limited experience in any of these areas can be compensated by the right personal skills and mindset.
Personal characteristics
We envisage a person used to building relationships and getting other people to do what is required while maintaining a good working relationship. This will probably require excellent communication skills. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Swedish is not a prerequisite.
We are looking for a person used to taking their own initiatives and largely managing themselves. The person focuses on achieving the goals set. The right person will be able to get access to the samples we require without much support from the other colleagues in Cavidi. However, ordering and managing the samples will be done as part of a team.
Location: Uppsala
Scope: Full time assignment via Dfind with fixed monthly salary. The assignment starts as soon as possible and reaches until the end of February. If you profile match both the sample sourcing part as well as the sample bank part, the assignment could continue into the following months. This is most likely a "visstidsanställning". If you are the person we are looking for there is a good chance of continuation.
