hela Sverige Are you a researcher with experience in signal processing and data modelling/simulation? Then maybe you are our future colleague!
We are now looking for a researcher with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of software development methodologies and systems design, and a desire to solve complex and large-scale problems to make important scientific and technical contributions to our projects at the Sensor Systems team in Gothenburg.
About us
To work within RISE Sensor Systems means the opportunity to address industrial and societal challenges through the development of innovative sensor solutions. We work across business and innovation areas since sensor systems have endless applications. For instance, we have designed and developed multimodal sensor systems integrated in a garment with advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms for applications such as medical diagnostics in order to improve treatment of patients suffering from Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. We are also working on the design of Inertial Navigation Systems, including sensor element design, embedded control loops and navigation algorithms.
About the role
Your main tasks will be to design methods, techniques, and algorithms to track, control, determine and combine physical quantities from different sensor outputs.
Typically, you will work closely with sensor designers, electronic engineers and application experts to determine relevant model equations and data analysis methods. Together in the development team you will decide the suitable complexity of the algorithm and subsequently implement it into a suitable hardware platform. Numerical simulations and data modelling will also be important tools for designing the sensor systems.
You will participate in publicly financed projects as well as assignments from customers. You are expected to independently carry out projects in close cooperation with industrial and academic partners, from the initial contacts to successful delivery. You are also likely to create new co-operations with companies and universities and attract research funding from public agencies. You will therefore have a broad network within RISE and externally with academia and the industry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This position involves a range of opportunities, including:
- Analysis of time series data including physiological signals
- Statistical modeling and analysis of diverse sensor data
- Software development and code management
- Being involved in writing grant applications
Who are you?
You have proven mathematical skills in numerical methods and experience in applied machine learning and AI.
The methods to be considered ranges from statistical modelling, machine learning, Kalman filtering techniques, feed-back control loop algorithms and advance simulations. Knowledge of biological signals is an advantage.
You are not afraid to take initiatives and appreciate personal responsibilities with the social competence. You have good organizational agility and enjoying networking. You like to work in small teams, where the members are multidisciplinary, and can divide your time between short-term and long-term projects. You are not surprised if your work renders into a paper or patent applications.
You have a PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., computer science, machine learning, electrical engineering, or applied mathematics) and/or some years of work experience with real-time signal processing or data modelling and adaptation into firmware or equivalent.
In addition, the ideal applicant should have a strong programming background (e.g. Python, MATLAB).
Well written and spoken English is required. Good communication and presentation skills are also important.
Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for our industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to one of Europe's leading Research Institutes and Innovation Partner.
We look forward to your application!
