Department of Ecology
At the Department of Ecology in Uppsala, we conduct research for sustainable forest and agricultural production and efficient biological conservation. We study the influence of land use and climate on animals, plants, soils nutrient status, and greenhouse gas balances. Solutions are sought that will mitigate climate change, preserve threatened species, benefit biological diversity and ecosystem services, and control pests in forest and agricultural landscapes as well as in urban areas.

About the position
The researcher work in the field (in southern Sweden), with statistical analyses, and writing of a scientific article. The research project is about how forest organisms are affected by tree mortality caused by the spruce bark beetle.

Your profile
The applicant experience from similar research, i.e. about how different forest organism groups are affected by micro- and macroclimate and how they are affected by environmental changes at, for instance, spruce bark beetle outbreaks. The applicant should be able to take own initiatives and work both independently and in a group. Excellent skills in written and spoken English is a requirement. Some basic knowledge in Swedish (corresponding to A1 and A2) is a requirement. Driving license is required.

Location:
Uppsala. Travel may be required.

Form of employment:
Time-limited employment 5 months, with possibility to prolongation. Full-time position.

Scope:
100%.

Start date:
September 25th 2025, or as agreed.
