Your mission
We are now looking for a research assistant to work with (i) our Global master programs in Global Health and in Public Health; (ii) the Educational Committee (UN); and (iii) with the Implementation and Quality Team within the Health Systems and Policy research group at the Department.
(i) The candidate is expected to assist the master programmes and program directors in any programme-related tasks. Duties will include liaising with course leaders, teachers and the education administration; serve as a link between students and the program administration in relation to queries, technical support and information. Duties will also include to maintain the online learning platform as the link between students, course leaders and the educational management.
(ii) The candidate will assist the UN at the department on tasks to maintain and improve the quality in education. Initially this will involve developing, implementing and reporting a qualitative interview study. Additional research related task on education and pedagogics can include writing ethical applications, writing manuscripts and organizing dissemination events for students and faculty.
(iii) The candidate will also assist in research activities in maternal and child health research projects. This involves analysis of qualitative data, manuscript writing, prepare applications for related funding, and support dissemination of results.
Your profile
The candidate must:
- Have been (will soon be) awarded a master's degree in public health or global health or related health sciences with courses in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Have experience in assisting or organizing academic courses, conferences or workshops.
- Have excellent skills in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Experience of conducting qualitative data collections and analysis (including relevant analysis software).
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools.
Since you will plan and manage the assignments you need to be structured, quality oriented and independent in your work. You should be able to communicate well in writing and in speech. To succeed with the assignments, you should work well together with others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal characteristics.
The following skills/experience are considered as desirable:
- Experience using online learning platforms such as Canvas.
- Experience from qualitative research in low income settings.
