• How about being given a more or less blank paper every 6-12 months, and then being responsible for filling it with something that is good for the customer?
• You will invent-, investigate-, reject-, argument for-, change-, write-, present- and deliver on both idea-driven and requirement-driven topics for the future mobile communications.
• The focus is on parallel design and execution of computer programs - a field that is quickly and increasingly becoming important for the future.
• You will work in a somewhat team-based environment, but still with quite a touch of individual responsibility and work.
• The road is sometimes bumpy, but you have the persona to cope with this.
• You are based in Stockholm
Things that make a difference
Personal traits
• Lead, Act and Inspire over follow and react.
• Possibilities and Visions over obstacles and limitations.
• Agility over rigidness.
• Argumentation over acceptance.
• Bring a good dose of Perseverance. It tends to be needed.
• English. Spoken and written, with confidence.
• Are these really important? It all this looks like standard HR yada-yada. Well...yes, they are important, to the point that they could well trump some skills and diploma.
The Techie stuff
• The A to Z of Embedded real-time computer systems (a 101 is not enough). A thorough knowledge and experience in the field, preferably from several points-of-view, like implementation, testing, architecture, etc.
• Embedded parallel computer systems? Many-core execution environments? These are a definite edge, should you have them.
Also of value
About you
• Sub forty over post forty? Maybe, but it really has more to do with who you actually are.
• Presentation skills over detailed documents? Sometimes, but you will need the writing skills.
Things you might know and skills you might have
Not to worry, there isn't a single person that will satisfy everything - but most persons that fill the bill will have some of the skills. No, the order is not relevant.
• Experience in telecom systems development. Maybe even in the RAN- and NodeB domains?
• LTE L2. User plane, Control plane, Scheduler, ... the works.
• A bit of wizardry in execution platforms is considered a good thing.
• Programming in C and C++.
• System level Design, and Implementation of embedded (parallel) computer systems.
• Algorithm simulation and evaluation. Design and implementation with SystemC.
• LTE L1. Having some L3 know-how could also be good.
• RTL- and HDL design.
• RTOS insights.
• IP, Cloud, Open Stack, Open-whatnot, SDN, ...
Educational
• M.Sc. or "higher" is expected, but not strictly required.
