The rapid growth of electrically driven and electronically controlled systems in all types of vehicles creates an increasing need for challenging research and development. We perform Mechatronics and Software R&D activities in order to secure key properties like safety, energy efficiency and reliability of products from the Volvo Group and other selected customers. Our dedicated engineers cover a wide range of multidisciplinary engineering sciences.
We are now looking for engineers with an interest in control system development to expand our teams.
Job description:
Your skills in control engineering will be used in a variety of application areas. You will work with the development of chassis, powertrain and climate control systems. The aim is often to optimize vehicle system properties such as energy efficiency, driveability, safety and comfort. You may also work with system analysis, modeling and simulation of dynamic systems. Work tasks span all phases from research, concept analysis and advanced engineering to prototype and product development.
Typical tasks include:
Research and advanced engineering related to vehicle control systems
Development and industrialization of control system solutions
Design of control system architecture and control strategies
Simulation, analysis and control function development with Matlab/Simulink
Testing and calibration of control systems
Participation in public funding and Volvo internal research and development projects
Networking with automotive industry and academic units
As a professional within your area of expertise, you will listen to and analyse stakeholder?s needs in the process of transforming technical knowledge into true customer value. Furthermore, contacts and cooperation with colleagues inside and outside the Volvo global organisation is a key to success.
Qualifications:
Minimum M.Sc. degree in engineering; Mechatronics, Physics, Electronics or equivalent with a focus an control engineering
Some experience in the analysis and design of control systems
Experience in engineering and development within the automotive area is beneficial
Ability to create new solutions and concepts with a focus on customer needs
Like to work on your own initiative and undertake responsibility
Analytical skills and holistic view
You have an open and positive attitude, good communication skills (English required) and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions
The job is dependent of a good network within and outside the company; therefore your ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain such networks in different areas in a global multi-cultural environment is essential
