The Environmental, Safety, Health & Quality Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a position as Quality Inspection Technician in the Quality Division.
Description of directorate/division/group:
The ESS Quality Division currently consists of two Quality Assurance Officers and one Quality Control Officer. In the field of Quality Assurance the main focus is on building and maintaining the ESS Management System. Quality Control has it 's main focus on verification of requirements, specifications and deliveries of items needed in the construction of the facility but also later in the operations and maintenance phase.
Description of main responsibilities:
As a Quality Inspections Technician you will take the lead in the Incoming goods Quality Control of ESS assets. This position includes a number of tasks and responsibilities, such as:
• The Quality Inspections Technician should be the "gate keeper" securing compliance towards requirements defined within ESS in regards to incoming goods.
• Being the person in charge for reviewing incoming goods documentation and securing the documented information control.
• Based on the documentation provided and incoming quality control on physical goods.
• The Quality Inspection Technician should be responsible to accept or reject the incoming goods, this will be done in collaboration with Quality Division and Work package Managers.
• Develop and maintain a calibration program for controlled measuring devices.
• Issue and file non-conformity reports.
• The tasks could also include attendance and witness of test performance at external providers premises this can include preparation before shipment i.e. inspection of markings, cleanliness and packaging.
Desired skills:
• Pragmatic and "hands on", the ability to grasp the "big picture".
• Well-developed skills in working with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask.
• Drivers license for forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Experience from working in a dynamic and international environment is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
