hela Sverige Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Purchasing Specialist to join our Västerås team.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.
You drive equipment industrialization timeline of development projects with major focus on design-to-cost and time-to-market for equipment being developed for the manufacturing of battery cells, at our existing production facilities as well as future expansions. You support the installation and commissioning of industrialised pilot equipment at Northvolt's industrialisation campus Northvolt Labs in Västerås, Sweden and you support proof-of-concepts of industrialised equipment at supplier's facilities ahead of business awards.
You are part of a team which procures the Core Process Equipment for a specific part of Northvolt's manufacturing process. The primary goal of your position is to develop and industrialise next generations Northvolt's battery manufacturing equipment for pilot and -scale factories in Europe and North America.
Key responsibilities
Develop and industrialise the next generation of core process equipment used in battery manufacturing
Support the development and implementation of Category Strategies within your area of responsibility
Enable cost targets achievement through supporting and fostering early stage value engineering and by establishing cost intelligence of the developed equipment
Adhere to agreed-upon industrialisation and development schedules
Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of joint development projects for next-generation process equipment
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts for equipment development projects
Ensure Northvolt's growth plans are reinforced through a robust equipment supply chain
Assist in identifying cost-saving initiatives and contribute to cost estimations
Continuously challenge conventional methods, striving to improve time-to-market and capital efficiency
Ensure compliance with Northvolt's policies and standards
Evaluating suppliers and offers, and engage and support in commercial, technical, and contractual negotiations
Cultivate and nurture robust relationships with equipment and technology suppliers.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience
Holds a degree in Engineering, MSc, or a relevant University Degree
Possesses a minimum of 2 years of working experience in the purchasing and project management field, with a preference for experience in the automotive industry
Demonstrates a track record of successful negotiations
Brings experience in managing complex bilateral and multicultural business relationships, which is a distinct advantage
Exhibits proficiency in drafting, negotiating, and managing various contracts and agreements
Possesses a fundamental understanding of project management principles
Holds a solid grasp of quality management fundamentals
Specific skills
Excellent English written and oral skills, any other language is a plus
Highly organized and result-driven
Not shying away from taking difficult decision when needed
Exceptionally good negotiation and problem solving skills
Can do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines
Excellent time management
