Project Manager - Powertrain NVH Project Management

As Project Manager at Powertrain NVH Project management, you are part of a small and nimble team with the mission to ensure that the development of next generation engines reflect our brand essence of 'Designed Around You' and that all attributes deliver a true luxury experience both in performance, CO2 and NVH. We oversee the complete development work from concept level, supporting the requirement setting process as well as push for activities during and until the very end of development phase, including activities around management drives, appraisals and press launches. All activities aiming to balance the attribute NVH regarding to time, technology and cost.

The team consists of only 3 people as of today and need to strengthen its workforce with a strong project manager that has proven leadership skills and preferably a solid background within the noise, vibration and harshness area and product development within Powertrain. The area of responsibility is very large and includes all design phases of engine, transmission, engine installation and calibration. A close dialogue with mechanics, other project management, line management and all functions within Volvo Cars NVH-Centre is required of this role and you will have around 200 people in your close contact network, high demands are therefore set towards your social skills and networking ability. Main responsibilities
• Integration in concept and development cross functional team
• Lead the NVH and sound quality work, cross functionally during the design face within Powertrain
• Project manage design activities required to reach over all NVH and sound quality attribute goals
• Secure deliveries on time, to the right cost and with the correct technology
• Report status at gate reviews and recommend further activities to reach over all goals

Required qualifications
• You have minimum a M.Sc. in Engineering specialised in acoustics and vibrations
• You have extensive work experience (minimum 5 years) from Powertrain or similar area
• You have documented experience from project management and/or line management
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Meritorious is knowledge in Chinese language
