Project Manager Purchasing (PMP)
Located in Gothenburg
Volvo Penta Purchasing has the responsibility to manage sourcing of parts for production and testing for the Volvo Penta business. Setting clear and challenging goals and following-up the execution of the strategies and activities to achieve the goals are vital parts of our success.
The Project and Prototype group within Purchasing is looking for a Project Manager Purchasing. The Project Manager for purchasing will oversee purchasing activities, such as supplier choices, tooling investments, and quality assurance (APQP), in product development projects and other cross-functional projects as well as being responsible to insure that purchasing activities keep the required pace so that our most urgent quality issues are solved according to the set time frames.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and drive follow-up meetings with Purchasers, SQA, Product Development and Suppliers to investigate and solve problems
• Act as Project Manager Purchasing in product development and other cross functional projects
• Plan, control, and report purchasing activities in accordance with our decided processes
• Report deviations to the project plan and develop recovery plans with stakeholders
• Regularly share project status with Buyers and Supplier quality engineers
• Report and escalate project related issues to Purchasing Management
• Work in accordance with the existing tools and processes and contribute to further improvement of the process efficiency

Expected Qualifications:
• University degree in Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Min two years of experience from project management or from work at a purchasing/product development department
• Communicative-can cooperate and talk to colleagues at different levels in the organisation
• Fluency-oral and written-in Swedish and English is required
• Basic technical knowledge, ability to understand drawings and engineering vocabulary
• Good understanding of project management and product development projects
