Work description
• The professor is expected to develop research and postgraduate education in history and between history and other disciplines at the School of Cultural Sciences, - primarily archaeology and the study of religions.
• The professor is expected to actively participate in the research environment at the School.
• The professor is expected to conduct work mainly on campus in Växjö and in Kalmar.
• The professor is expected to apply for external funding and initiate research projects both within the field of history and between disciplines at the School.
• The professor is expected to teach in undergraduate-, advanced undergraduate- as well as postgraduate level education.
• Some administration in connection to research and teaching will be included.
Bases of assessment
Anyone who demonstrates both sufficient academic and pedagogical expertise within the subject area as described above qualifies for employment as a professor.
Demonstrated research and teaching experience in one or several of the fields profiled in the discipline of history at Linnaeus University. At Linnaeus University we conduct historical research in both individual- and multidisciplinary projects. Our strengths include medieval and early-modern history from a cultural perspective; international- and postcolonial history; migration and cultural encounters; democracy and citizenship; as well as uses of history and didactics.
Additional bases of assessment
• Well-documented experience demonstrating ability to cooperate.
• Previously established national- and international networks.
• Experience from multidiscplinary research collaboration.
